Office Closed for July 3rd & 4th for Independence Day; Spring-Ford Rebate forms now available

Dear Neighbor,

Office Closed for July 4th Holiday

My offices will be closed on Thursday, July 3 and Friday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

We will re-open on Monday, July 7.

All PennDOT driver license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will also be closed Friday, July 4, 2025, in observance of Independence Day. Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services, including all forms, publications and driver training manuals, online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website, www.dmv.pa.gov.

PTRR payments started going out this week;

Spring-Ford Rebate forms now available

Earlier this week, the state started sending out rebate payments to seniors and individuals with disabilities under the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program.

This initial distribution will include approximately 425,000 rebates totaling $258 million — critical relief that is going to older homeowners, renters, and people with disabilities across Pennsylvania.

Haven’t applied for PTRR yet? My office can help you or you can apply online here. If you do not receive your rebate within 4 to 6 weeks from the issued date of 7/1/2025, please call 1-888-222-9190 to speak with a Department of Revenue representative

Residents of the Spring-Ford Area School District who qualify and receive a payment from the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program can receive an additional rebate under the school district programs. Please make sure to make a copy of your PA Property Tax/Rent Rebate check before depositing it or print out a statement of direct deposit showing you receiving the state rebate, because you will need this to apply for a local rebate. You will also need a copy of the first two pages of your PA-1000 Property Tax/Rent Rebate application; if you applied through our office, we would already have this on file for you.

Fish for Free Day on July 4th

This Friday, July 4th, is the second of the two Fish-for-Free Days in Pennsylvania. On these days, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission allows anyone - residents and non-residents - to legally fish without needing a fishing license.

All other fishing regulations still apply, but this is a great opportunity for some family fun in the outdoors.

Delivering for You in Harrisburg

I want to let you know about the important bills my colleagues and I passed this week that will help our neighbors and improve our communities:

We protected your wallet by capping overdraft and nonsufficient fees on bank transactions (HB 1553) and requiring a service company to clearly and conspicuously provide the consumer with the option to opt into, rather than opt out of, a service (HB 129).

We supported new moms by expanding Medical Assistance to cover blood pressure monitors for home use as a pregnancy-related service (HB 1234).

We acted to guard the good health of the brave firefighters who put their own safety on the line for all of us by reducing their exposure on the job to certain chemicals (HB 1261).
