Town Hall Set for June 4; Shredding event rain or shine!

Dear Neighbor,

One of the most important jobs of any elected official is listening to their constituents.

So, during a period of increased interest in our government, I wanted to hold an in-person town hall. Plenty of time will be reserved for your questions and comments on the June 4 Town Hall at the Pottstown Senior High School auditorium. We’ll begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.).

Speaking of hearing from you, my office has brought back the “Stroll with Joe” walk program. You can sign up for a half-hour slot to enjoy a walk with me at one of a handful of popular local parks.

Sunday’s shredding event will be held Rain or Shine!

Our event will be held, even if there’s a little spring rain on Sunday, May 4. Please note that the truck will not arrive at the Western Montgomery Career & Technology Center (77 Graterford Road) until 11 a.m. Thank you to the Limerick Fire Police for assisting with traffic control.

Remember to remove all binder clips, CDs, fasteners, photos and plastic. Only staples and paper clips can be with the paper.
You can bring up to four boxes or bags per vehicle.
We don’t have a way to properly dispose of cardboard boxes, so those will go home with you.

Here is what to expect on Route 422 next week:

Monday, May 5, through Friday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a lane closure will be in place on U.S. 422 in both directions between Keim Street and Grosstown Road for geotechnical test borings.

In addition, lane closures with flagging will occur on High Street between Heritage Drive and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township on Monday, May 5 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning for barrier placement and a traffic shift under PennDOT’s $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway and replace bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near or through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
