HARRISBURG, Sept. 26 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria/Somerset, announced today that three arts organizations in the 72nd Legislative District will share in $14,578 in grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
"It is grants such as these that enable our local arts organizations to entertain and inspire us," Burns said. "The arts as a whole play an important role in our communities and enrich our lives."
The following entities in the 72nd District received grants to support their organizations:
The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, founded in 1966, is governed by a 19-member council whose mission is to foster the excellence, diversity and vitality of the arts in Pennsylvania and to broaden the availability and appreciation of those arts throughout the commonwealth.
For the 2012-13 fiscal year, the Council on the Arts distributed more than $1.3 million to 649 grant recipients statewide.
