Burns: Johnstown rail project receives $2.1 million state grant

JOHNSTOWN, Jan. 23 — State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, announced today that a $2.1 million state grant was awarded to Lehigh Valley Rail Management for a rail rehabilitation project in Johnstown.

“This kind of funding helps connect Cambria County businesses to the rest of America’s economic network,” Burns said. “If we want good-paying jobs and thriving local businesses, our infrastructure needs this type of funding. I’m proud to have backed a state budget that makes it possible.”

With the grant, the rail company will replace approximately 7,000 ties and install 10 new turnouts at its Johnstown facility.
