Johnstown Symphony Orchestra awarded $10,000 America250PA grant

HARRISBURG, June 16 State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, today announced the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra has been awarded $10,000 to help support its latest season celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

Called “Musical Roots, America at 250,” the orchestra will celebrate this country’s semiquincentennial during its 2025-26 season with several performances featuring the rich tapestry of American music.

“As we prepare to celebrate this country’s 250th anniversary next year, our communities are planning and preparing to celebrate in meaningful and impactful ways," Burns said. “In Johnstown, the symphony will be featuring music from American composers to recognize our country and some of its contributions.”

This award is a Semiquincentennial Grant from America250PA, the organization established by the legislature and governor to plan and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States on July 4, 2026.
