Burns’ annual Senior Fair to connect seniors to state resources

EBENSBURG, May 1 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, will host his annual Senior Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 16 at the Bottle Works, 411 Third Ave., Johnstown.

Burns hosts this annual Senior Fair to provide information and answer questions on the state government-related programs and services offered to seniors.

“This fair is a yearly reminder to our seniors of all of the benefits they qualify for,” Burns said. “It’s a way to connect our seniors with a variety of up-to-date services and state-related programs that they qualify for and do it all in one place.”

Attendees can learn more about such senior services as the expanded Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program and PACE/PACENET, the state’s prescription assistance programs. There also will be information available on housing, insurance and transportation, and the state Treasurer’s Office will be there to help seniors find out if they have any unclaimed property with the state. Free blood pressure checks also will be available, as well as games and prizes. In addition, Burns and his staff will be in attendance to answer questions and provide direction on a host of government-related programs and services.

“This senior fair is another opportunity for me to help the people I serve. That’s always my goal with these events and I hope people will benefit,” Burns said.

Please RSVP by Monday, May 12 by calling one of Burns’ offices at 814-472-8021 or 814-536-8400.
