Burns’ offices collecting pet food donations in April

EBENSBURG, April 12 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, is hosting a Pet Food Drive this month in his local offices and at elementary schools.

“I regularly host this Pet Food Drive during Prevention to Cruelty to Animals Month as a way to bring attention to the plight of animals facing abuse or neglect,” Burns said. “Shelters are where these animals wind up or if they’re found wandering the streets, and it can be expensive to care for all of these animals while they’re waiting for new homes. This drive aims to provide some help.”

Those interested in donating non-perishable food items may drop off their items at either of Burns’ offices: 535 Fairfield Ave. in Johnstown and 123 W. High St. in Ebensburg during regular business hours.

Local elementary schools also are participating in this drive. Students may bring items to their classroom’s donation box.

At the end of the month, everything collected will be taken to local collection sites in Johnstown.

Any questions may be directed to Burns’ office at 814-472-8021.
