The 2017 Giving USA Report revealed that charitable donations in the US reached a record high of $390.05 billion in 2016, a 3% increase from 2015. A lot of the donations were directed to environment, women’s issues, social services and the arts.

A University of Pittsburgh study found that 60% of PA Medicaid patients who overdosed on opioids and 40% who overdosed on heroin filled an opioid prescription within 6 months of their overdose.

The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that one in five children have mental health problems with 46.7% of females and 46% of males affected. A total of 41.7% of 13-14 year olds, 45.9% of 15-16 year olds and 54.5% of 17-18 years olds are impacted by a serious debilitating mental disorder.
