According to the 2017 Caseload Statistics of the Unified Judicial System of PA, DWI/DUI cases made up the most offenses in PA with 41,434 cases filed (25.1% of offenses),  followed by property-related crimes with 39,793 cases filed, and drug-related crimes with 38, 197 cases filed.

PennState Data Center has found that 59.5% of PA’s land is covered by forest. Of man-modified land, 13.5% is used for pasture and 12.3% is used for cultivated crops, while only 9.2% of PA’s land has been developed.

The Professional Beauty Association reports there are more than 1 million licensed beauty professionals in the US with employment expected to expand by 13%. There are over 75,000 licensed cosmetologists in PA.

The CDC has stated that 39,773 people in the US died by guns in 2017, which marks a nearly 11,000 increase since 1999 and a record high going back to at least 1979 when CDC started tracking these deaths. Almost 24,000 died from suicide, the highest number in 18 years.

A recent PEW study found that millennials are the largest generation participating in the workforce, but their median salaries have stayed stagnant at $34,000 while median debt has increased from $10,000 to $33,000. Their home ownership has dropped from 48% to 39%.
